M /S: Bury /Mosher <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9713 APPROVING LEASE (WITH PURCHASE OPTION) OF DATA PROCESSING <br />EQUIPMENT, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />There being no objection, Mayor Britschgi ordered that Oral Communications be <br />considered out of order at this time. <br />1. David Presotto, 221 Howland Street, described some unwholesome and otherwise <br />unpleasant conditions existing over the past few years in the vicinity of the <br />Whipple Lodge, adjacent to his home, such as sewage running in the streets, <br />prostitutes in the area, use of drugs in the nearby park, public drinking, <br />and the fact that the Lodge is an eyesore and unsafe. <br />City Attorney Schricker advised that the problems involving the premises are <br />well known to the City; that there have been a series of prosecutions in <br />connection with the property which resulted in temporary compliance, and then <br />the violations are repeated. <br />Discussion followed regarding possible remedies, such as a Neighborhood <br />Boards program for the area. <br />Mayor Britschgi asked staff, and particularly the Police Chief, to increase <br />surveillance in the area, and Mr. Presotto indicated he will contact 'the City <br />Manager regarding the Neighborhood Boards program. <br />MEMO 10/25/84 <br />-----------------=---------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />11.
