Arthur G. Kroijer, 738 Crompton Road, stated that he objects to the
abandonment; that a private 8" drain line runs through the property within
the easement and connects to the City's storm drain, which he said has caused
damage to his property (Lot 10). A folder containing his correspondence i
between himself and various City departments was submitted by him for review I i
by staff. He objected to the fact that he had not been notified of the
public hearing by mail.
Director of Public Works Addiego advised that the immediate area had been
posted with notices of the hearing; that he did not believe there were any
City utilities in the easement, and that he was not aware of some of the
concerns expressed by Mr. Kroijer and would like to investigate the matter.
The Clerk advised in response to question that notice of the hearing is
published twice in the newspaper, in addition to posting of notice, but that
mailing is not required. City Attorney Schricker advised that the procedures
for abandonments are taken under the provisions of the State Streets and
Highways Code which specifies posting and publication requirements.
M /S: Claire /Rhodes to continue the subject public hearing pending review by
staff until November 5, 1984.
Carried unanimously by voice vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -170
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
2.
