RESOLUTION NO. 9717 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE FURNISHING OF HYDRAULIC <br />SECTIONAL RODDING MACHINE, AND AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO CALL FOR BIDS <br />THEREFOR <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />7. Disaster Preparedness Report <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Fire Services 10/18/84. <br />Director of Fire Services O'Brien described what is covered in the booklet <br />"How to Survive a Redwood City Earthquake ", which is intended to be a self - <br />help program, since in the event of a major disaster, emergency services and <br />agencies would be unable to render immediate assistance. In addition to the <br />booklet, an Earthquake Safety Checklist in pamphlet form is available. He <br />reported that they have been working with the County Office of Emergency <br />Services on the Disaster Plan which is now being printed, and hope to present <br />it to the Council in about a month. <br />The survival guide is available in all City buildings, and it was also <br />suggested that notices of its availability could be inserted in the water <br />bills. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />M /S: Chandler /Mosher to waive reading of Consent Calendar, and approve all items. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />8. MOTION: to reject claims of Joan Farmer and Jean Waldren. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -173 <br />9. Approval of warrant nos. 21908 through 22087 and authorization to make usual <br />and necessary payment of bills. APPROVED <br />10. MOTION: to hire Typist Clerk II at above entry level. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 84 -174 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Mayor Britschgi said that he had received a communication from County <br />Supervisor Speier which discusses a household hazardous waste cleanout <br />project, co- sponsored by the County of San Mateo and the League of Women <br />Voters of San Mateo County, to be held on Saturday, October 27, 1984, from <br />10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the San Carlos Transfer Facility, during which <br />time they will be accepting household hazardous waste without charge. Some <br />examples were drain openers, oven cleaners, ammonia, antifreeze, pesticides, <br />and similar toxic agents.
