M /S: Claire /Stangel <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9720 CONDEMNING BUILDING AT 620 JEFFERSON AVENUE AS A PUBLIC <br />NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL THEREOF <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />Vice Mayor Mosher requested that the City Manager report back when <br />appropriate on the future housing arrangements for any displaced tenants from <br />612 and 620 Jefferson Avenue. <br />Memo 11/9/84 <br />6. Public Hearing - Proposed Sewer Service Rate Increase <br />Report of City Manager, Director of Finance and Director of Public Works <br />10/8/84 and 11/5/84 <br />City Manager Smith noted that both connection charges for sewer service and <br />sewer service charges are involved. He described the SBSA (South Bayside <br />System Authority) regional plant which includes Redwood City, Belmont, San <br />Carlos, and West Bay Sanitary District, all of which are affected by the rate <br />changes. <br />Director of Public Works Addiego and Director of Finance Tasseff referred to <br />the subject reports and displayed projections of pages from the reports. <br />They commented and replied to questions concerning test results which justify <br />increase in charges to industrial users; that residents should not subsidize <br />industrial users; that federal and state guidelines require biennial update <br />on costs; that the federal grant to construct the project requires that <br />charges be made to cover user costs for maintenance, replacement and future <br />needed capacity; and the manner of arriving at costs. <br />Jim Bewley, General Manager, SBSA, described allocation of service charges to <br />member jurisdictions and the budget process. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />11/5/84 <br />Page 4 <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 45 <br />Page No. 175 <br />
