Item No. 2 (continued) <br />12. M /S: Rhodes/ to give the people the opportunity to vote for the <br />Office of Mayor for a two year term with the same duties and salary as <br />at present and that a limit of two consecutive terms be established. <br />The motion died for lack of a second. <br />Chairman Leipzig and Councilman Biagi of the Charter Review Committee <br />reported that the Committee had given considerable attention to the <br />subject and recognized that restructuring of city government would be <br />required with powers and staff requirements determined, as well as <br />whether the position would be full or parttime, the role of the city <br />administration and other policy considerations. They reported <br />reviewing material from other cities and noted that the unanimous <br />consensus of the Committee as reported in the Minutes was that the <br />office and term of Mayor should remain as it is. <br />Chairman Leipzig called attention also to the policy recommendation <br />relating to public comment in connection with the future of the Port <br />which does not require action at this time. <br />Mayor Stangel thanked Chairman Leipzig and the members of the Charter <br />Review Committee for their work and service to MINUTE OunityNin reviewing <br />the Charter. <br />--------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER, <br />3.
