Another name she mentioned was Horace <br />Haas. <br />Jeri Joseph, Parks and Recreation Commissioner and San Mateo County History <br />Museum employee, stated that she agrees with the concern with providing <br />restrooms. Another concern she mentioned was where the pedestrian or school <br />drop off will be located as it will have a great impact on the museum. <br />Mayor Ira requested a response to the crosswalk concern. Mr. Freedman stated <br />that, typically, unsignalized crosswalks are not used except in very slow moving <br />areas. He further stated that with the amount of activity expected in the <br />downtown center and without stop signs on the corners it would not work. With <br />the plaza and the two front doors in front of it, he stated his certainty that people <br />will not walk to the corner and will cross in the middle of the street no matter <br />what is done. He stated the importance that it not be flush, that there is an actual <br />curb and a visible color change. <br />Regarding flagpoles, Mr. Freedman stated the assumption that they would go to <br />the left and right of the portico. Council <br />Member Foust was elected to the Transportation Authority as the South County <br />representative and Council Member Hartnett was re- elected and selected as Vice <br />Chair of the SamTrans Board.
