ARTICLE 30 OFFSTREET PARKING AND LOADING SECTION 30.l Purpose. The purpose of this article is to requir€ that all uses of lãnd in~he City which normally t~rminate or generate automobile trips provide on that land, or reasonably close, adequate space on which to park and load the vehicles involved, in order that the public streets may be used primarily for the movement of traffic and not the storage of automobiles. SECTION 30.2 Required Parking Space. In all districts, in connection with every use of property, there shall be provided offstreet parking spaces for automobiles according to the following schedule: ( a) Automobile and machinery sales and services,garages: One space for each 500 square feet of floor area. (b) Banks and business and a&~inistrative offices: . 300 square feet of floor area. One space for each ( c) Bowling Alleys: Four spaces for each bowling lane plus additional spaces for other uses such as restaurants, if present, according to the requirements herein for such other uses. (d) Churches: One space for each.5 seats in the auditorium or one space for every 17 classroom s6ats, whichever is the greater. (e) Dance, assembly or exhibition halls without fixed seatings: One space for each 100 square feet of floor area used for assembly or .dancing. ( f) One garage space or carport space for each dwelling unit. Duplexes: (g) Dwellings, multiple: One garage space or carport space for each dwelling unit plus one additional space for every three dwelling units except in the RG, R-3 and CB Districts. In the CB District, one garage space or carport space shall be furnished for each dwelling unit, In the RG and R-3 Districts, one garage space or carport space shall be furnished for each dwelling unit plus one additional space for every two dwelling units. (h) Dwellings, single family, with over 800 square feet of living area: Two garage spaces or two carport spaces. (i) Dwellings, single family, with under 800 square feet of living area: One garage space or one carport space. ( j) Funeral homes, mortuaries: One space for each five seats in the chapel, plus one space for each parlor room, plus one space for each employee. (k) Furniture and appliance stores, furniture repair: each 500 square feet of floor area. One space for ( 1) One space for each patient bed.
