<br />ARTICLE 30 <br /> <br />OFFSTREET PARKING AND LOADING <br /> <br />SECTION 30.l Purpose. The purpose of this article is to requir€ that <br />all uses of lãnd in~he City which normally t~rminate or generate automobile <br />trips provide on that land, or reasonably close, adequate space on which to <br />park and load the vehicles involved, in order that the public streets may be <br />used primarily for the movement of traffic and not the storage of automobiles. <br /> <br />SECTION 30.2 Required Parking Space. In all districts, in connection <br />with every use of property, there shall be provided offstreet parking spaces <br />for automobiles according to the following schedule: <br /> <br />( a) <br /> <br />Automobile and machinery sales and services,garages: <br />One space for each 500 square feet of floor area. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Banks and business and a&~inistrative offices: . <br />300 square feet of floor area. <br /> <br />One space for each <br /> <br />( c) <br /> <br />Bowling Alleys: Four spaces for each bowling lane plus additional <br />spaces for other uses such as restaurants, if present, according <br />to the requirements herein for such other uses. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Churches: One space for each.5 seats in the auditorium or one <br />space for every 17 classroom s6ats, whichever is the greater. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Dance, assembly or exhibition halls without fixed seatings: <br />One space for each 100 square feet of floor area used for assembly <br />or .dancing. <br /> <br />( f) <br /> <br />One garage space or carport space for each dwelling unit. <br /> <br />Duplexes: <br /> <br />(g) <br /> <br />Dwellings, multiple: One garage space or carport space for each <br />dwelling unit plus one additional space for every three dwelling <br />units except in the RG, R-3 and CB Districts. In the CB District, <br />one garage space or carport space shall be furnished for each dwelling <br />unit, In the RG and R-3 Districts, one garage space or carport space <br />shall be furnished for each dwelling unit plus one additional space <br />for every two dwelling units. <br /> <br />(h) <br /> <br />Dwellings, single family, with over 800 square feet of living area: <br />Two garage spaces or two carport spaces. <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Dwellings, single family, with under 800 square feet of living area: <br />One garage space or one carport space. <br /> <br />( j) <br /> <br />Funeral homes, mortuaries: One space for each five seats in the <br />chapel, plus one space for each parlor room, plus one space for <br />each employee. <br /> <br />(k) <br /> <br />Furniture and appliance stores, furniture repair: <br />each 500 square feet of floor area. <br /> <br />One space for <br /> <br />( 1) <br /> <br />One space for each patient bed. <br /> <br />Hospitals: <br /> <br />(m) <br /> <br />Four spaces for each five living or sleeping <br /> <br />Hotels and motels: <br />units. <br /> <br />55 <br />
