(a) Each required outdoor offstreet parking <br />shall have a width of not less than eight and one half feet and a length of not <br />than 18 feet except for parallel parking in which case such spaces shall be not <br />than 22 feet long and eight feet wide. <br /> <br />space <br />less <br />less <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the foregoing, in any parking area with five or more required <br />parking spaces, one compact parking space may be provided in lieu of one regular <br />parking space for each five required parking spaces or major remaining fraction thereof. <br />A compact space shall have a width of not less than seven and one-half feet and a <br />length of not less than l5 feet. <br /> <br />(b) Each required garage or carport space, or parking spsçe located in a garage <br />or carport, shall have a width. of not less than tèn féé1:-âiíd a length of not less <br />than 20 feet. Hhere such spaces do not have a wall or any continuous obstructions <br />between them, they may overlap each other a maximum of 12 inches. <br /> <br />(c) Each required offstreet loading space shall be not less than ten feet in <br />width, 24 feet in length, and l5 feet in height. <br /> <br />SECTION 30.6 Parking Area Standards, Spaces and Aisles. (a) All parking <br />areas with spaces for three or more vehicles which spaces are intended to fulfill <br />the offstreet parking requirements prescribed in this article, shall conform to <br />the following standards: <br /> <br />(I) <br /> <br />Circulation aisles necessary for movement and turning within a <br />parking area and for maneuvering into and out of parking spaces <br />shall have the following minimum widths: <br /> <br />(a) Where parking is parallel, twelve feet. <br />(b) Where parking is at an angle of forty-five degrees or less, <br /> twelve feet. <br />(c) Where parking is at an angle of 60 degrees or less, but more <br /> than 45 degrees, l8 feet. <br />(d) Where parking is at an angle of 90 degrees or less, but more <br /> than 50 degrees, 23 feet. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Parking lots shall be so designed that vehicles can maneuver with <br />ordinary turning movements and avoid the necessity of backing out into <br />a public street" <br /> <br />(b) No garage space required for any dwelling shall have its entrance located <br />within 20 feet of any street right of way line. <br /> <br />SECTION 30.7 Acçess Drives~ Every required parking space, garage space <br />or carport space for more than five vehicles, and every required loading space, <br />shall have access to a dedicated public right of way by means of an access drive <br />of not less than l8 feet in width, unless two one-way access drives are provided, <br />in which case each drive shall be at least lO feet in width. Joint use of <br />driveways and turning space shall be permitted when the rights to such use are <br />conveyed to and recorded by the mutual owners. <br /> <br />SECTION 30.8 Access to Public Right of Way. No building permit shall be <br />issued for any main building, or for any additional dwelling units when a main <br />building has been previously constructed, unless every garage space, carport <br />space or parking space required by this ordinance has direct and immediate access <br />from the lot on which it is located or proposed to be located to a dedicated <br />public right of way contiguous to said lot which has been improved to minimum <br />standard specifications, or which will be so improved pursuant to a street <br />improvement agreement in connection with which a performance bond has been <br />furnished the City. <br /> <br />57 <br /> <br />....--...-......... -....-.-....--...... ----_.-.. ----_.- .._...... <br />
