Report and as part of the structure plans.

0 PermitslResearch. Obtain the necessary encroachment permits from Caltrans and the
County, for field exploration work.

D Review readily available geologic and soil literature in the vicinity of each site,
including any boring information.

D Field Exploration. 2 borings up to 70 feet in depth.

D Laboratory Testing. Perform laboratory testing on representative samples including
moisture density, plasticity index, gradation analysis, and laboratory compaction tests.

CJ Soil AnalysisÆvaluation. Perform engineering analysis, and develop design
recommendations, for the support of vertical and lateral loads for the proposed
structure.

D Preliminary Soils Recommendations.
foundation type.

D Prepare a Draft Foundation Report. Prepare a detailed report including design
recommendations for the foundation types and footing elevations. Also specified in the
report will be the tip elevations for the pile foundations, information on groundwater
conditions, allowable bearing capacity, anticipated fill settlement, and other
information needed to evaluate the selected foundation.

Prepare a preliminary recommendation for

D Final Foundation Report. Prepare the final Foundation Report, per PDT comments on
draft report.

Deliverables: 7 copies each of Draft Materials Report and Foundation Report
10 copies each of Final Materials Report and Foundation Report

3.8 Drainage Report. The Drainage Report shall include the following elements: review of
existing drainage culverts and ditches, recommendation for additional drainage facilities,
and maintaining historic drainage courses. Upgrading of culvert capacity, if required, will
be discussed. Drainage inlets will be analyzed for capacity and design spread of water
along curb faces. Detailed drainage tributary areas will be mapped form project
topographic mapping; the drainage system will be analyzed, using HYDRAIN, to obtain
design flows for culverts and ditches.

Deliverables: 5 copies each of Draft Drainage Report
10 copies each of Final Drainage Report

3.9 Geometric Approval Drawings. Prepare CADD generated 1: 1 000 and 1: 500 scale
geometric approval drawings. This work will include geometric refinements and the
preparation of GAD in accordance with Caltrans Standards. The draft GAD will be in a
form acceptable for inclusion into the Project Report. The Final GAD will include existing
topographic/planimetric mapping, calculated right-of-way lines and centerlines,
mathematized geometric layouts, traffic AMlPM peak hour volumes from the Project
Study Report, profiles, design criteria, and typical sections.

Exhibit "A"
Route JOJ/Ralston-Marine Parkway Interchange Project
Scope of Services

Page 7
