Task 3 Conceptual Engineering 3.1 Conceptual Plan Development Develop Conceptual Geometries - Conceptual geometries will be developed by the Consultant. These geometries will be basically line drawings showing the major design features including: . Edge of pavement/curb lines and pavement markings Preliminary profiles General drainage/utility requirements Approximate right-of-way requirements . . . The technical aspects of the conceptual geometries will be analyzed to determine the effect of meeting the project goals. Analysis will include at a minimum the following project elements: . Constructibility TraffidConstruction Staging DrainagelUtility Requirements Bicycle and Pedestrian Requirements Traffic Operations Right-of-way Impacts Landscaping Impacts . . . . . . During this activity, any non-standard project elements will be identified. The conceptual plan products will include a large scale plan with accompanying typical cross sections. The Consultant will be maintaining frequent contact with the City staff during the development of the conceptual geometries. Present Conceptual Geometries to Citv Staff - The relative impacts of the conceptual plans developed and presented to the City staff, along with the conceptual plans for review and comment. Revise Conceptual Geometries - Based on the review by the City staff, the Consultant shall revise the conceptual geometries and prepare the necessary exhibits for the Public Meeting. 3.2 Public Meeting Objectives: . Ensure citizens who may have an interest in the project are well informed and public outreach is encouraged . Promote a positive image for the Redwood City Public Works Department .
