<br />ï i;;- <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PART V <br />IMPLEMENTING PROCESS NOTIFICATION TO TENANTS <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />GENERAL NOTICE TO TENANTS <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Tenants will be contacted in person or by letter, (Exhibit VI) depending on <br />the urgency stated by the Building Official. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />The first contact will be to advise the tenants that abatement action is in <br />progress, that they may be required to move either temporarily or <br />permanently from their current unit. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />They are entitled to replacement housing assistance payments and moving <br />expense assistance under the City's Relocation Ordinance. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />They will receive instructions within 14 - 30 days on how to apply for <br />assistance. In most cases, these instructions will be provided within 3 - 5 <br />days from the date the Notice from the Building Division is received by the <br />Housing & Redevelopment Division. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />They must complete the attached relocation needs assessment form and return <br />it to the Housing and Redevelopment Division within 10 working days. <br />(Attach suppo1ting documents to the assessment form to verify income or <br />bring it with them to the Relocation Assessment Needs interview.) <br /> <br />RELOCATION NEEDS ASSESSMENT INTERVIEW WITH TENANTS <br /> <br />Upon receipt of the Relocation Needs Assessment Form, (Exhibit ill), the tenants <br />will be contacted for an Interview. At the time of the Interview the tenants shall <br />provide the following information: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Unit size, household income, preferred location of replacement unit, special <br />needs in relocating, i.e., need ground floor accessible units, transportation to <br />look at units, need moving van, or other accommodations. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Collect supporting documentation to calculate the replacement housing <br />payment, evidence of household income and verification, copies of utility <br />bills to determine average utility cost. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />.---......-.--..---.---.'" <br />
