<br />PART IV <br />NOTIFICATION TO OWNER AND TENANTS REGARDING <br />APPLICABILITY OF RELOCATION ORDINANCE - <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT ABATEMENT <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />ABATEl\1ENT NOTICE FROM BUILDING AUTHORIZING ELIGIBILITY . <br />FOR RELOCATION ASSISTANCE <br /> <br />When the City Council acts by resolution to abate any portion of a rental dwelling <br />(the "Resolution") and determines that all or some of the rental units are <br />uninhabitable, the Building Official shall cause the Redevelopment Division to be <br />notified. A copy of the Resolution so indicating will be forwarded to the Housing <br />& Redevelopment Division with written confirmation of tenant eligibility and any <br />tenant information available. <br /> <br />B. NOTIFICATION TO PROPERTY OWNER <br /> <br />Upon receipt of Notice from the Building Official, the Housing & <br />Redevelopment Division will provide to the affected tenants in the units, and <br />the property owner regarding the applicability of Ordinance # 2048 and <br />indicate the owner's requirements to pay costs for relocation with a notice <br />containing the following information (Exhibit V): <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />The notice will describe which unites) are affected, whether the <br />relocation is permanent or temporary, the cost of the moving expense <br />payment, and if a comparable replacement unit has been located, the <br />cost of the replacement housing payment. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />The notice will describe how payment is to be made, either cash by <br />owner deposited with the Redevelopment Agency or funds to be <br />advanced by the City of Redwood City and secured by a tax lien on <br />the subject property to be abated. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />If cash is to be paid by the property owner, these funds are collected <br />and deposited into a subescrow account. Payments are to be disbursed <br />from this account and accurate record keeping maintained for 48 <br />months. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />If a lien is to be filed to secure the City's advance, Housing & <br />Redevelopment Staff will provide the final estimate of costs to carry <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />.._...~....... <br />
