Exhibit "A" <br /> <br /> Kennedy/Jenks/Chilton <br /> <br />Mr. Jon Lynch <br />27 March ]989 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Concurrent with the dedicated, full-time commitment of Rey Chan to these two <br />projects, we have committed the specialized technical capabilities of Dan <br />Bufton (CM), Aniko Molnar (hazardous waste inspection/disposal) and Tony <br />Wakim (electrical) to these projects on an as-required basis. Dan and Tony <br />are located in our Palo Alto office, approximately 20 minutes away from <br />either job site, while Aniko is in our San Francisco office, approximately 35 <br />minutes away from either job site. In addition, our Palo Alto office offers <br />both the support and the technical expertise of registered engineers, <br />inspectors and managers to supplement our field efforts and to providing both <br />projects with the attention required to have a successful project. <br /> <br />Given the technical complexity of both projects and the accelerated time- <br />frame required for completion, we believe both projects will substantially <br />benefit from the investment of a registered civil engineers' expertise. We <br />also believe that sharing Rey Chan's expertise on two projects in proximity <br />to each other represents the most cost-effective means of providing those <br />services. In addition, the diversity of technical and managerial capability <br />on-call from our Palo Alto office will provide both projects, both con- <br />tractors and Redwood City with the support required to successfully complete <br />both projects. <br /> <br />Scope of Work <br /> <br />The Construction Manager will be responsible to the City, through the City <br />Engineer's Office, for the proper execution of the construction administra- <br />tion and inspection services for the Veteran's Boulevard bridge project. He <br />will be represented at the job-site by the resident engineer who will be <br />responsible for the day-to-day construction. <br /> <br />Construction management services will include: <br /> <br /> 1. Daily inspection of materials, personnel and equipment used in the <br /> construction to verify compliance with the contract documents. <br /> <br /> 2. Coordination of materials testing such as compaction tests on soil <br /> and concrete cylinder tests at the direction of the City (City to <br /> pay testing costs). <br /> <br /> 3. Review and approval of requests for monthly and final payments. <br /> <br /> 4. Maintaining record drawings of the Project for "As-Built" <br /> conditions. <br /> <br /> 5. Coordination of the review of shop drawings, material submittals, <br /> and manufacturer's certificates. <br /> <br /> <br />
