The Conservancy <br />Board will make the fina;1 selections at its June 24th meeting. <br /> <br />Application <br />Format Five sets of application materials, including all attachments, must be <br />submitted. Conservancy staff will make <br />funding recommendatjons to the Conservancy Board at its June 1999 <br />meeting. . <br /> <br />Notification All applicants will be notified oftbe award selection by June 30, 1999. <br /> <br />Eligible <br />Applicants <br /> <br />Eligible <br />Activities <br /> <br />ELIGIBILITY <br /> <br />Local governments, special districts. land trusts, and nonprofit organiza- <br />tions are eligible. Land trusts and other nonprofit organizations must have <br />among their principal charitable purposes the protection and preservation <br />ofland for recreational, public access, or habitat purposes. They must also <br />qualify as nonprofit organizations under Section SOlc{3) of the Internal . <br />Revenue Code. <br /> <br />Pre-acquisition and acquisition costs; planning and design of trails and <br />parks, including staging areas and SUPPOI l facilities; landscaping; signage; <br />and construction. . <br /> <br />GRANT AGREEMENT <br /> <br />After the award notification, those selected for awards will receive a grant agreement <br />form from the Conservancy. When the agreement is fully executëd, grant recipients may <br />undertake their projects. Funds will be available on a reimbursable basis for work <br />completed. The Conservancy will withhold ten percent of each invoice until the project is <br />completed. In general, funds wlll not be available until October 1999. <br /> <br />III-16 <br /> <br />2. <br />
