<br />3~.1 <br /> <br />The improvements have now been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineering and <br />Construction. <br /> <br />Three actions are now required to close the project: <br /> <br />1. Reaarding the Sanitary Sewer Permit: The new buildings are served by a pump <br />station, which pumps the sanitary sewage to the San Carlos side of the intervening <br />Cordilleras Creek. During the design process it became apparent that the site would <br />need to have an emergency overflow for the sewer system. A gravity line (which <br />flows towards the City's sewer system) was arranged, and the agreement provided a <br />special fee for this connection. <br /> <br />A Special Sanitary Sewer Permit calls for the payment of an up-front fee of $4,000 <br />as a one-time, standby connection fee, and provisions for metering any overflow, <br />should the line be used (only in the case of emergency, or loss of power to the <br />pumps). <br /> <br />2. Reaardina the Riaht-of-Wav: The right-of-way on Industrial Road was never <br />officially dedicated to the Cities (Redwood City and San Carlos) for public use. The <br />old property lines for the lots went out to the center of Industrial Road, with <br />easements provided for use of the street. The new deed will dedicate the street <br />rights-of-way to Redwood City (and City of San Carlos) for permanent use as a <br />public street. <br /> <br />3. Regarding Easements: Finally, two easements are being offered to the City for <br />access to water facilities (meters, valves, and appurtenances), which are located on <br />private property. These easements will be accepted and recorded following City <br />Council action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />There are no immediate fiscal impacts to the City with this action. The developer was <br />required to pay $4,000.00 for the Special Sanitary Sewer Permit, and will be <br />responsible to pay for any future sewage overflow to the City's system.
