' 3�.-� <br /> B. The fees established pursuant to this Article are development fees authorized <br /> under California Government Code Section 66000 et seq. <br /> C. This Ordinance shall apply to the extent permitted b� the statutes and laws of the <br /> State of California. <br /> Section 18.246 - Intent and Purpose: <br /> A. It is the intent and purpose of this Ordinance to: <br /> 1. Adopt a program for the purpose of jointly funding, from public and private <br /> sources, transportation system improvements necessitated in whole or in part <br /> by new development within Redwood City. <br /> 2. Provide an equitable method for allocating the cost of reasonable and <br /> necessary transportation improvements between the public and the private <br /> sector. <br /> 3. Create a methodology to charge and collect transportation impact fees from <br /> new development. - <br /> 4. Create a system for the collection and administration of transportation impact <br /> f�es. . <br /> B. This Article supplements existing authority of the City to regulate development. <br /> This Article shall not be construed or implemented in a manner inconsistent with <br /> the Califomia Envirortmental Quality Act (Pub. Resources Code § 21000, et <br /> seq.; "CEQA"). The transportation impact fees imposed hereunder shall not <br /> exceed the proportionate share of the costs of traffic and transportation system <br /> improvements that are reasonably related to the development upon which such <br /> fees are imposed.
