<br />1 K-1. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />TO WITHDRAW FROM AND TERMINATE THE JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING THE INTER-CITY TRANS- <br />PORTATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY; <br />AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP AND PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />PENINSULA TRAFFIC CONGESTION RELIEF ALLIANCE; AND <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF JOINT <br />POWERS AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING SAID ALLIANCE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Inter-City Transportation Systems Management Authority <br /> <br />("ITSMA"), a joint powers agency, was formed to assist public agencies as well <br /> <br />as the private sector in achieving traffic congestion relief through the <br /> <br />implementation of transportation demand management programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has been a member of ITSMA since <br /> <br />1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the members of ITSMA desire to withdraw from and <br /> <br />terminate the joint powers agreements establishing this agency and to participate <br /> <br />in a new joint powers authority that will expand and improve transportation <br /> <br />demand management programs on a countywide basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City supports continued <br /> <br />efforts to relieve traffic congestion in the City and region and therefore desires to <br /> <br />become a member of the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Res0-886 <br />F : \sh \sh \redwood\Coun ci I <br />DES:djk <br />05103/00 <br /> <br />1 <br />
