<br />7 A .l} <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Commissioner Sanfilipo stated that we are limiting second units to only <br />those properties that have driveways in the back and can meet the access <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bursak said that if we do not have some type of ordinance <br />to specify our requirement then we have to go with the State <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Mr. Jany said that what is being reviewed tonight generally applies to lots <br />with long driveways and garages located in some corner lot of the parcels. <br /> <br />Mr. Dempsey, Housing and Human Concerns Committee, stated that <br />some type of consideration should be given to a minimum size. <br /> <br />Mr. Passanisi said that we do not have a minimum size. <br /> <br />Mr. Dempsey, said the City should consider a minimum size of 200 sq. ft. <br />to 400 sq. ft. <br /> <br />Ms. Paulsen, Housing and Human Concerns Committee, asked if we <br />should have a minimum size. <br /> <br />Commissioner Piulle said that what we are talking about is maximum size <br />not minimum size. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Boland said that for clarification purposes State <br />law allows a City to impose minimum and maximum sizes in regards to <br />accessory dwellings. <br /> <br />Ms. Keely, Housing and Human Concerns Committee, expressed her <br />concern that sometimes six or seven people are living in one unit. <br /> <br />Mr. Passanisi said that the Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum lot <br />coverage for single family homes, and the second unit would be part of <br />that calculation. <br /> <br />Ms. Tweedie, Chair of the Human and Housing Concerns Com mittee, <br />stated that the 1000 sq. ft. maximum size is a large size for a second <br />dwelling in the backyard of your home. <br /> <br />Ms. Mahany.
