Furthermore, not only were existing conduits found to be <br />damaged, but one interconnect wire was actually cut by a different Contractor while the <br />system was going through certification. <br /> <br />Next Steps <br />If City Council accepts this project, staff will move forward to close out the project; the <br />Labor & Material and Faithful Performance bonds will be released, and the retention <br />monies will be paid to the contractor. This action will also commence the standard one- <br />year warranty period. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Originally, the project was to be entirely funded by two grants: the RTSOP grant funds <br />of $354,120 and AB434 grant funds of $45,880 for a total amount of $400,000. The <br />total construction cost for the project is $383,588. In addition, $79,225 was spent for <br />the design, administration, and inspection of the project, for a grand total of $462,813, <br />which exceeds the grant funds by $62,813.
