1•3A
Waste Extraction Test (WET) on soil samples that exhibit total lead concentrations
reater than 0 mg/kg and less than 1,000 mg/kg. Samples that exhibit soluble lead
(WET) concentrations greater than 5 milligrams per liter (mg/L) will be reanalyzed
for soluble lead via the WET with deionized water used as the extractant (WET-DI).
For the purposes of this Proposal it is estimated that 43 samples will be analyzed for
solublelead.
Perform QA/QC for each method of analysis with specificity for each analyte listed in
the test method's QA/QC. QA/QC will include the following:
- One method blank for every ten samples, batch of samples or type of matrix,
whichever is more frequent.
- One sample analyzed in duplicate for every ten samples, batch of samples or
type of matrix, whichever is more frequent.
- One spiked sample for every ten samples, batch of samples or type of matrix,
whichever if more frequent, with spike made at ten times the detection limit or at
the analyte level.
d) Report Preparation
A draft report will be prepared to summarize the results of the field activities and
laboratory testing in general conformance with the requirements of Caltrans. The report
will include but not be limited to the following:
• Background summary
• Scope of services performed
• Observations during the field activities
• Results of field activities including laboratory results
• Total and soluble lead statistics
• Site Plan and Vicinity Map indicating boring locations and project boundaries
• Conclusions and recommendations
• Appendices including laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation
Upon receipt and incorporation of review comments, four copies of the finalized report
will be provided. If contamination is found at actionable levels, additional coordination
with San Mateo County and/or Regional Water Quality Control Board will be required,
and a Remediation plan may need to be prepared for Caltrans and agency approval.
Additional coordination and investigation effort, including remediation planninj, will be
considered as additional services.
1.12 Tvpe Seleclion Report
The design of the new ramp bndQe and specialty retainin walls will be prepared
following the Caltrans Type Selection process.
