'A-~ AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REDWOOD CITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND THE SAN MATEO COUNTY HI~TORICAL ASSOCIATION FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESTORATION OF HISTORIC COUNTY COURTHOUSE This agreement, made and entered into this day of December 2000, by and between the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency ("Agency"), a redevelopment agency of the State of California, and the San Mateo County Historical Association ("Association"), a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of California operating under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. WITNESSETH WHEREAS, Association is accredited by the American Association of Museums; and WHEREAS, Association manages and operates the San Mateo County Historical Museum ("Museum"); and WHEREAS, Association, in cooperation with a group of private citizens of Redwood City, desires to assess the cost of demolition of the Courthouse annex and the preparation of architectural plans for the re-creation of a park/plaza, to develop a funding strategy for said restoration, and, if feasible, undertake design of such park/plaza (the "Project"); and Whereas, the Project is included within the San Mateo County Facilities Plan, which Plan has been reviewed and supported by the City Council of the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, Agency is committed to revitalization of the downtown area in furtherance of the objectives of its adopted Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, Association has requested that the Agency provide it $15,000 in financial assistance as "seed money" for the Project and represented that private individual have committed to match such seed money with contributions to the Project totaling at least $10,000; and WHEREAS, Agency has reviewed said request and determined that Agency's limited financial support of the'Project will further Redevelopment Agency objectives; and -1- Courthouse Restoration AK/DES: Form dated: 12/4/00
