6 •A z <br /> ■ Downtown Entry Features, including the "Climate BesY' signs <br /> ■ Broadway sidewalks <br /> In addition, the Agency accomplished the following low and moderate-income housing <br /> activities: <br /> ■ Wyndham Place, a 15-unit townhouse development on the site of a former motel <br /> that had been a repeated code enforcement problem <br /> ■ City Center Plaza, an 81 unit rental development adjacent to City Hall <br /> ■ Lincoln Avenue Habitat Project (Hope Court) that developed 6 for-sale units targeted <br /> to very low-income families <br /> ■ Rolison Road Project that will generate 36 new for-sale units during this plan period. <br /> In sum, 203 units of housing have been built in the redevelopment area since its <br /> inception in 1982. The Redevelopment Law requires that fifteen percent (15% x 203 = <br /> 30 units) be developed as affordable housing over the Agency life. The Agency has <br /> exceeded this statutory requirement by 89 units. The Agency has funded the <br /> development of 119 affordable units since 1982. <br /> During this next Implementation Plan period (2000-2004) the document discusses the <br /> following list of possible projects (refer to Table 3 following page 14 of the Plan): <br /> Housing <br /> Projects pursued in the next five years will include: <br /> ■ Implementation of the Rolison Road Project <br /> ■ Development of housing on the sites recently acquired on EI Camino Real <br /> ■ Completion of the Irvine units in the Franklin Street Area <br /> ■ Commencement of development on the balance of the Franklin Area <br /> ■ Continued implementation of the First Time Home Buyer Program; and <br /> ■ Development of additional housing in and around the downtown. <br /> The Plan projects that the Agency will assist in the development of 671 additional <br /> affordable housing units over the next ten years, 131 more than the minimum required <br /> by statute. <br /> 2 <br />
