¿'. 3't!- ~

As is commonly the case with public streets, the City does not own the underlying
property of dedicated streets. The city merely has a street easement (a right-of-way for
street purposes and utilities). The ownership is usually split 50/50 between the
Property Owners on each side of the street, unless chain of title shows some other
intent. This would preclude the City using the vacated parcel as a park, for example.

Alternative
The alternative is to not vacate the street, in which case it remains a dead end, un-
maintained plot of land for which the City remains liable.

Fiscal Impacts
There are no fiscal impacts to the City as a result of this street vacation.

~ e Patterson
mmunity Development Director

/},1, il ¡) 1--
(/}/1 ¿- tLv~
Ed ~verett
City Manager

JP/OF:ss
Attachments:

Attachment "A" - Plat Map of Vacated Area
Attachment "8" - Conditions of Vacation
~ .

sllibrarylreportsllynch_vacationyortion of St. Francis Street

2
