<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Project and Systems Engineer <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Participate in the selection and supervision of private professional <br />engineers for the development of plans, specifications, studies and reports. <br /> <br />Coordinate engineering-related activities with other city departments, <br />divisions, and sections and with outside agencies. <br /> <br />Confer with staff regarding project priorities and programs. <br /> <br />Supervise, train, and evaluate professional and technical subordinates. <br /> <br />Act as system administrator for the Engineering Divisionis personal computer <br />systems. <br /> <br />Coordinate computer related functions and activities with other City <br />Departments. <br /> <br />Manage and administrate the City's Geographic Information System (GIS). <br /> <br />Administer GIS contracts. <br /> <br />Evaluate and recommend computer products. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to public <br />works engineering. <br /> <br />Modern methods, materials, and techniques used in the construction of <br />public works projects. <br /> <br />Modern developments, current literature, and sources of information <br />regarding the assigned area of civil engineering. <br /> <br />City codes and ordinances pertaining to public works. <br /> <br />Applicable laws and regulatory codes relevant to design and construction <br />in the area of assignment. <br /> <br />Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. <br /> <br />Modern developments, current literature and sources of up-to-date <br />information effecting management of GIS and personal computer systems. <br /> <br />11489 <br /> <br />'"""-'T' <br />
