8.C. - Page 18 <br />Police, Chief of Fire Department, Director of Finance, City Attorney and such other officers and <br />boards or commissions as may be hereafter established. <br />The City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk, shall be appointed by the Council and the <br />removal of any of them shall be only on the affirmative vote of five -sevenths (5/7ths) of all <br />members of the City Council. <br />All other officers and employees shall be appointed by the eCity mManager and shall hold office <br />or position at his or her the City Manager's pleasure. The compensation of all officers and <br />employees, shall be provided by resolution of the Council. (As amended April 9, 1968, approved <br />by Legislature April 29, 1968, Chapter 76.) ESTABLISHMENT OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br />All boards and commissions shall be established and the members thereof appointed by the <br />eCouncil, and the duties and functions of said boards and commissions shall be prescribed by the <br />eCouncil, unless otherwise specifically provided in this Charter. No Derson shall be aDDointed to <br />a specific board or commission for more than four full consecutive terms. A Dartial term to which <br />a Derson is aDDointed to fill a vacancv on anv board or commission shall not be included in <br />computing consecutive terms. The full term during which a member may resign shall be included <br />in the same manner as if no resignation had taken Dlace. If a member is not reappointed after <br />serving one or more terms, such member may be aDDointed in a later aDDointment cvcle and <br />shall be eligible to serve four consecutive terms from the date of the later aDDointment. Full <br />terms or Dartial terms served Drior to January 1, 201A shall be included in computing consecutive <br />terms. When a member completes a term without being reappointed to the succeeding term, <br />including instances in which a member is not reaDDointed because of the term limits set forth <br />herein, such member shall continue to serve until their successor is appointed and aualified. All <br />members of such boards and commissions shall, at the time of their appointments and <br />continuously during their incumbencies, be residents and electors of the City unless otherwise <br />provided by the Council. CONSOLIDATION OF OFFICES: <br />More than one office and the powers and duties thereof may be consolidated under a single officer <br />by ordinance of the eCouncil, or by order of the eCity mManager, provided that the office of eCity <br />1i�tManager shall not be abolished.
