b. Floor plan maps shall be submitted with unit numbers at all entrances, <br />excluding fire exits. <br />C. Provide a key pad with 24 hour access code for public safety personnel at <br />the main entrance, as opposed to just RFID readers or similar devices <br />57. Elevator Requirements — The following requirements for elevators apply: <br />[SDR][BUILDING] <br />a. One elevator shall be available for use as an accessible <br />means of egress in case of emergency. <br />b. One elevator shall be connected to backup generator <br />power in order to remain operable during emergencies. This elevator <br />shall be provided with appropriate signage and shall extend to all floors <br />including the lower levels of the parking structure <br />c. All additional elevators shall be connected to battery <br />backup with sufficient power to bring the elevator to the exit level in the <br />event of an emergency. <br />d. All elevators shall be equipped with smoke curtains <br />58. Gurney Accommodating Elevator Required - Elevator is provided in <br />buildings that are four stories or more. Elevator shall be provided for fire <br />department emergency access to all floors. The elevator car shall be of such a <br />size and arrangement to accommodate an ambulance stretcher 24 inches by <br />84 inches with not less than 6 -inch radius corners, in the horizontal, open <br />position and shall be identified by the international symbol for emergency <br />medical service. The symbol shall not be less than 3 inches high and shall be <br />placed inside on both sides of the hoist -way door frame. CBC 3002.4. [SDR] <br />[FIRE] <br />59. Portable Fire Extinguishers Required - Portable fire extinguishers, with a <br />minimum classification of 2A:10BC are required to be permanently installed in <br />the building within 50 feet of travel from all portions of the building in compliance <br />with NFPA 10 and CFC Section 906. Indicate the location and size of these fire <br />extinguishers on the plans. Provide a section detail indicating how the fire <br />extinguishers are to be mounted to the building. Required Fire Flow from Municipal Water Supply - On the project <br />information sheet or other sheets as designated in the plans provide the <br />required fire flow for the project based on the square footage of the building and <br />type of construction in accordance with Appendix B of the California Fire Code <br />(CFC).
