Functional System Description
traffic stop or open the unit's window through a Quick Key combination. These are just a few
of the options available by utilizing this technique.
Command Line Entry:
The command line interface is the fastest method of entering unit status information and
performing many other common tasks and is performed through entering a string of textual
commands.
Handling Calls
The PalladiumO CAD dispatch screen is the main window from which telecommunicators dispatch
calls and perform related tasks. This eliminates toggling from one window to the next, whiie allowing
each window to remain active. Among the many functions telecommunicators can use from the
dispatch screen are the following:
. Assigning units to calls
. Adding new calls
. Recording information about calls
. Clearing calls
. Viewing a variety of essential information about call locations
. Viewing detaiis about units and departments
Dispatch/Home Screen
Paltadium0 CAD provides access to the CAD Dispatch/Home screen with only a simple double-click
• of the CAD Icon in the program group. The CAD windows can be sized and moved as desired by
each position. When the windows are positioned and sized as the users wants them to be a simpfe
click of the SavPos button in the Home Screen Toolbar will save the position and size of all windows
showing. This also appfies to pap-up windows.
Cal/Features:
. The dispatching screen is designed so that the primary CAD functions (receiving calls,
dispatching units, and updating unit status) can be performed without overlapping windows or
windowing between data.
. The dispatching screen supports multiple monitors controlled by one keyboard and one mouse.
. Details about the currently highlighted call are dispfayed; including the complaint type, ten code,
priority, dispatch zone, incident location, caller name, telephone number, how the call was
received, alerts, ESN, and times for the primary unit.
. Call tocations can be entered automatically with E911 or manualfy by address, location name, or
intersection. If entered by location name or intersection, the correct address is automatically
filled in.
. Pul!-down lists allow fast data entry. For example, in the new call window telecommunicator's
access a pult-down list of the complaint types defined by Agency.
. When calls are received, telecommunicators are alerted to medical conditions, hazardous
materials, and other conditions that exist at the caller location. This information is stored in the
Intemal ALI database.
. Cafls can be entered in advance (planned) as in the case of an escort or scheduled ambulance
transport. These calls then pop up at the designated time for handling.
. The historical calls database alerts telecommunicators to previous calls at caller locations.
Telecommunicators can then browse the previous calls to review dates, types of calls, and
responding units.
. Telecommunicators are alerted to fire plans associated with an address entered for call.
. Emergency telephone numbers, business names and information, alarm information, and other
user-defined entries are available for quick lookup from the dispatch screen.
 ':: p LucentTechnotogies Proprietary Page Z
• srn imnx ron nusi.ic ssxrv
. _. _._ _ __
