Redwood City Police Statement of Work
Department
 1.1 PROJECT SCHEDULE
Attached to this Statement of Work is Motorola's preliminary project
schedule including Physical Progress Milestone information. This schedule
is based on a receipt of contract award on October I, 1998 and includes a
Gantt chart of project tasks and corresponding durations and payment
milestones.
The Prelimin.ary Project Timeline contained in the Statement of Work sets
forth reasonable estimates of the pertinent project dates, including equipment
delivery and installation dates, and payment milestones. Many important facts
are presently unlaiovva--when the contract will be executed, what options
REDWOOD CITY will select, and finai site selections/preparations.The
tasks when finalized will be performed as stated in the detailed project
schedule, which will be finalized during the Detailed Design Review and
incorporated as part of the contract document'The project schedule will
reflect the best estimate of time and resources required to complete the
project, while identifying key deliverables and completion of tasks. The
' project timeline will reflect major task blocks, relative duration af the tasks,
and the sequence in which the tasks will be performed. Changes in the project
schedule shall be agreed upon by REDWOOD CITY and Motorola, and will
be effected through a Contract Change Order(CCO)or Change Request
 CR
pientation pticing and human resource alloca.tions for this project aze
based on the proposed schedule for land accuisition, tower construction, and
building construction.
Motorola uses the project schediile(hereinafter referred to as the timeline) to
identify critical rinig and deliverables, called milestones, that all parties
must adhere to. Completion points, paymeat tri8gers customer and Motorola .
deliverables, and other such milestones are noted in the timeline. Motorola
considers the timeli.ne a contraetual document that,in essence, summarizes
the plan for the project. The lzmeline drives the pmject and its resources.
When circumstances require a change to the critical path of the timeline, a
contract change otder will be cansidered..Any contract change order that
affects the timeline will be handled under the constraints and guidelines that
have been negotiated for CCOs.
Motorola presently uses Microscft Project for WindowsTM version 4.Q,which
allows theroj ect Manager to develop a visual representation of the
individual tasks, duration, and timing of the PmJec.It also illustrates the
interrelationships necessary to manaSe the project efficientlY and effectively.
(_._
Qrororo.a ' 4 -2
.
_ _ _ _
