ATTY/ORD.449/ORDINANCE AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE 72 HOUR & COMMERCIAL VEHICLE <br />REV: 11-14-17 MI <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />from the street or highway in the manner and subject to the requirements of section <br />22650 et seq., of the Vehicle Code of the State. For purposes of this Section, a <br />vehicle shall be deemed parked or left standing if it has not been moved at least <br />two-tenths (0.20) of a mile one vehicle length as measured by the length of the <br />vehicle in question within the aforesaid seventy-two (72) hour period. <br />Section 6. Section 20.96.1 of Chapter 20, Article VII, Division 1 of the Redwood <br />City Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety, and replaced with “RESERVED”. <br />Sec. 20.96.1. – RESERVED. <br />Section 7. Section 20.101 of Chapter 20, Article VII, Division 1 of the Redwood <br />City Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Sec. 20.101. - ALL -NIGHT PARKING OF OVERSIZED COMMERCIAL VEHICLES <br />PROHIBITED—FOR TRUCKS, BUSES, TRAILERS, ETC., ON ANY STREET; <br />REMOVAL BY POLICE: <br />A. For purposes of this Section, the term “commercial vehicle” shall have the meaning <br />ascribed to it by Vehicle Code Section 260, and the term “oversized” shall mean a <br />commercial vehicle that exceeds twenty-four and one half (24.5) feet in overall <br />length (including any load or accessory thereon) or that has a manufacturer’s gross <br />vehicle weight rating of more than eight thousand (8,000) pounds. <br />B. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park or leave <br />standing any oversized commercial vehicle upon the street for more than a <br />consecutive period of two (2) hours. This limitation on parking shall be effective <br />twenty-four (24) hours daily. For purposes of this subsection B, a vehicle shall be <br />deemed parked or left standing if it has not been moved at least one vehicle length <br />as measured by the length of the vehicle in question within the aforesaid two (2) <br />hour period. <br />C. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection B of this Section, Nno person shall <br />stop, stand or park any truck, bus, trailer, trailer coach, house car, vehicle equipped <br />with a camper or any oversized commercial vehicle of any kind at any time on any <br />street in the City for a period of time longer than one hour between the hours of <br />two eight o'clock (82:00) PA.M. and five o'clock (5:00) A.M. of any day. <br />DB. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections AB and C of this Section, no person <br />shall stop, stand or park any oversized commercial vehicle, having a <br />manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of ten thousand (10,000) pounds or <br />more, in a residential district at any time; provided, however, any person may stop, <br />stand or park any such vehicle in a residential district while necessary to load or <br />unload property therefrom, or when such stopping, standing or parking is <br />reasonably necessary in the performance of a service to or upon any property in <br />the block where such vehicle is stopped, standing or parked. <br />6.4.A. - Page 9
