<br /> <br />Page 6 of 9 <br /> <br />Nevada Merriman, Director of Housing Development, stated they would <br />like to build as many homes as possible, however, due to funding <br />constraints they designed as many as they possibly could while still <br />remaining financeable. <br /> <br />Commissioner Safdari stated that if another opportunity arises in the <br />future, they should consider how they can get that financing up front too <br />offer even more units. He stated that perhaps they should look at how <br />the DTPP may be constraining the ability to develop. <br /> <br />Chair Radcliffe asked if this project was under redevelopment and is <br />that why they went to State Lands. <br /> <br />Mr. Turner stated that it was not. <br /> <br />Chair Radcliffe expressed excitement about the project. She <br />recommended that the applicant consider putting a boat tie up on the <br />creek. She also recommended the applicant consider partnering with <br />City Trees. <br /> <br />Motion to adopt resolution 17-18 approving the Downtown Planned <br />Community Permit with the seven guidelines deviations, the Vested <br />Tentative Parcel Map, and Density Bonus Parking Concessions based <br />on the findings and subject to the conditions of approval found herein <br />and upon determination that the proposed project is exempt from <br />CEQA. <br />M/S (Bondonno/White) TO APPROVE 7-0 <br /> <br />Commissioner White thanked Vice Chair Bondonno for his decade of <br />work on helping assist with this project. <br /> <br />7. STAFF REPORT <br />A. Update on the Citywide Transportation Plan <br /> <br />Senior Transportation Coordinator Manzi gave a presentation on the <br />update to the Cityside Transportation Plan. She stated that Redwood <br />City Moves is one of the initiatives the city current has to help address <br />the concerns of those throughout the city. She presented a project <br />update, a draft of the RWCmoves Plan, including the vision and goals, <br />the key issues and opportunities, and the proposed transportation <br />program. She discussed the various efforts that Staff have collected <br />feedback from the community. She provided an overview of the next <br />steps going forward. She discussed the change in measuring impacts in <br />transportation. She stated they currently use Level of Service (LOS) and <br />they are transitioning to Vehicle Miles Traveled VMT. She explained <br />why VMT is a better measure. She explained how VMT will be used for <br />evaluating the operational impacts of projects. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER QUESTIONS/COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Safdari stated he is excited that the city is thinking about <br />this.
