Commissioner Knecht: He suggested kids fishing pier at Marina, said he thought the R.C. Kiwanis could prob- ably give financial help on the project. Mr. Knecht suggested a gymnasium for R.C. be considered. Mr. Morton stated that he felt there were enough facilities available at our various high schools. Mr. Knecht urged consideration be given for a municipal golf course in the City. Commissioner Stuart: Suggested possible inclusion be considered in the new recreation building plans for a hi-fi room or a room devoted to the history of tape, etc., with recorders, a tape library and sound being piped throughout the building. Suggested possible interest by Ampex Corp. in such a room. Commissioner Sipes: Reported on S.M.Co. Reqional Plan- ing Committee - Waterways Sub-committee meeting of Au~. 12th: Said members felt that the plan for tidal barriers in the So. Bay would have an adverse effect on recreation and had agreed to oppose the tidal barrier plan: said that standards for brid- ges and channels as presented by the County Planning Commiss- ion in a Master Plan, would be up for adoption at the Oct. 15th meeting, with a public hearing probably set for Oct. 29th.
