'2

"

,,',

Chestnut Playground. Commissioner Knecht will follow up on
new equipment and make recommendations.

(

10.

COMMENTS OF COMMISSIONERS, RECREATION DIRECTOR, AND PARK
SUPERINTENDENT ON OLD OR NEW BUSINESS:

COMMÅ’SSIONER SIPES: Said he had written to City Manager Neal
through Chairman Beals and understood that Marina Committ-
ee was having trouble finding a suitable place for the kids
fishing pier. Mr. Sipes urged that a suitable location be
provided.

"

Mr. Sipes reported that the WATERWAYS SUB-COMMITTEE of the
S. M. County Regional Planning Committee had adopted a set
of standards on Waterways.

COMMISSIONER WHITMORE: Advised that he had written a thank you
letter to R.C. Kiwanis for their offer to contribute $1000
to install a kids fishing pier at the Marina. Chairman Beals
advised that Kiwanian H. Coeh10 would spearhead cooperation
between other Kiwanis Clubs for any extra money needed -
total cost of project being estimated at around $2,000.

COMMISSIONER THOMPSON: Requested stenographic services again be
provided for Commission minutes as it was impossible to take
minutes, participate in meetings, give reports and handle
correspondence. Chairman Beals stated he had twice request-
ed such stenographic services during the last several months.
A letter was ordered written to City Manager Neal asking
that stenographic services be provided for Commission meet-
ings. (written 11-9-65).

/,

Mrs. Thompson referred to new State Bill - AB 1lS0, Chapter
1809, effective Sept. 17/65, which authorizes cities and
counties, as a condition to approval of final subdivision
maps, to require by ordinance the dedication of land, the
payment of fees in lieu thereof, or a combination of both,
for park and recreational purposes. On motion of Commiss-
ioner Whitmore, seconded by Commissioner Stuart, and passed,
letters were ordered written to the Planning Commission and
the City Council recommending that the City take advantage
of AB 1150, Chapter 1809, when consideration is being given
to new sub-divisions. (written 11-9-65).

.,

Re S. M. County Regional Planning Committee, City and County
Parks Sub-Committee, Mrs. Thompson stated that Mayor James
A. Fox of Pacifica had reported at the October meeting that
Pacifica had had good success for some time in securing prop-
ertyand/or funds for improvement to adjacent park projects
and other concessions from new developers.

""",
