<br />54 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />On motion of Ann Gooding, seconded by Bob Whitmore, and passed, the <br />Commission voted to approve preliminary plans as presented. <br /> <br />#9 - STULSAFT PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - progress report by staff; <br />Mr. Shewry advised that the playground area headings were both in at <br />Stulsaft Park. <br /> <br />#10 - FRIENDLY ACRES PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - progress report by staff; <br />Mr. Shewry advised that playground area he"adings were also in at, this <br />park. Mr. Morton reported that a parking area will not be needed by <br />the adjacent Fire Department at this time; and that equipment for both <br />playgrounds - Stulsaft and Friendly Acres - had been ordered with the <br />exception of one piece. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />All equipment will be installed as soon as weather permits. <br /> <br />Mr. Fenton Mee reported that the Real-estate Committee was meeting <br />"tomorrow on the Commission request to extend size of playground area <br />at the Second Avenue site. <br /> <br />#11 - MARY HENDERSON REPORT: Chairman Beals asked the Secretary to <br />advise City Manager Ullrich that Commission action on this report <br />has been deferred pending receipt of the Redwood Shores Feasibility <br />Report. . <br /> <br />#12 - REST ROOMS AT STULSAFT PARK - Chairman Beals announced that <br />Mr. Balzarini was meeting tomorrow with Mr. O'Keefe and representa- <br />tives to ascertain approximate plumbing and installation costs of <br />facilities. <br /> <br />#13 - COMMENTS FROM PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS, PARK SUPT., <br />RECREATION DIRECTOR, PERTAINING TO OLD-OR NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER STUART: Asked about the success or otherwise of the <br />Ramblers semi-pro football team games. Mr. Morton said that he und- <br />erstood the Ramblers had lost money this year as our bleacher facili- <br />ties were not adequate to accommodate a large enough number of spec- <br />tators. As to turf damage, Mr. Morton felt he could not evaluate <br />damage, if any, until next Apr-il.
