<br />,Shores purchased in 1959 for $3,000 and sold last week for $150,000.
<br />He agreed on the urgency of proceeding rapidly towards securing
<br />future park lands.

<br />Commissioner Whitmore', speaking for the Commission, thanked the
<br />Citizens,' Committee for their work on the Winans Survey, and ex-
<br />pressed the hope that they would continue to work for parks and
<br />
<br />,

<br />recreation in the city so that the next few years would show
<br />dramatic results.

<br />Miss Cathy Capone, Sequoia High Student, suggested small parks
<br />as being of. great value. Chairman Beals thanked Miss Capone
<br />for attending the meeting and voicing an opinion.

<br />Chairman Beals warmly thanked the members of the Citiznes'

<br />Committees for their assistance on the Winans Report and for
<br />the many hours which they contributed toward it, their -help
<br />being an important part in the ultimate evolvement of the Parks
