<br /> <br /> <br />,"~ ':, ~':",6 <br /> <br />~", <br /> <br />:"" ",;', <br /> <br />Co~issioner Stuart gave a synopsis of the Park and Recreation <br />conference in Fresno commending the city for its downtown mall, <br />the many and varied parks in the city: said he had attended a <br />seminar on uBond Issue$, Pass or Fail", another on golf cÇ>urses: <br />had secured material_on semi-private golf coùrses and how to- <br />- achieve 7 and noted an offer of help.-' for working towards acquis- <br />ition and ultimate layout and maximum utilization on golf courses. <br /> <br />On MOTION of Jim Knecht, seconded by Doris Thompson, Mr. Stuart <br />was asked to type up his report and send a xopy to each sommiss- <br /> <br />,., <br />10ner. <br /> <br />Commissioner Goodinq said among the meetings which she attended <br />was a suggestion for deterring scribbling on walls, etc. - <br />immediately remove. the scribbling and the defacers woul~ lose <br />interest in scribbling7 she also heard talk by the Dir~ctor, of <br />Recreation of Fremont and his working with the schools, suggest- <br />ing a need of working together throughout the entire year for <br />all around facility use. ' <br /> <br />AGENDA - 5 - ROUNDTABLE: <br /> <br />- J <br /> <br />On MOTION of Alyn, Beals, seconded'by Doris Thompson, it was voted <br />to recommend to Council the acceptance of the Parks & Recreation <br />Element of the General Plan, as approved by the Planning Commiss- <br />ion on January 31,1967. Passed. (4-6-67) <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON: expressed her personal thanks to Alyp <br />Beals and Jasper Sipes for their outstanding value to the Comm- <br />ission and would be sorely missed: advised Mr. Beals and Mr. <br />Sipes that they contipued to serve a~ commdssioners unt~l their <br />successors were appointed: reported 'on tree planters which were <br />being placed along Main Street from Broadway to the railroad <br />tracks, noting that this project h~~ been proposed by Council- <br />man Granger and he should be commended for it¡Mrs. Thompson <br /> <br />, , ,.,' ,< ,., <br />paid tribute to the year 99 Comm1ttee of Redwood C1ty Centennial <br />Inc. and to the City Council and city 'staff for their fine coop- <br />eration towards the clean-up program and beautification and the <br />splendid efforts resulting to the city: Mrs. Thompson told <br />that 200# of wild flower seeds had recently been planted in <br />the city XKK by the Year 99 committee and the Park Dept., mail-' <br />ly on Hetch Hetchy R/W. <br /> <br />,-"- <br /> <br />" " <br /> <br />" ' <br /> <br />, , <br /> <br /> <br />..
