Chairman Whitmore said Mr. Beals had offer- <br />ed his services in this capacity and $uggested that Mr. Arnett and <br />Mr. Stuart and Mr. Beals meet and set up ways to proceed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart inquired on delivery of balance of furnishings <br />due for the Cormnunity Activities Building and expressed concern that <br />they had not all been received, noting that a sixty day delivery date <br />had been promised, asked for ~ status report on California Clippers <br />use of a Community Park field. Mr. Morton and Mr. Balzarini were ask- <br />ed to report at the July meeting. Mr. Stuart noted "Redwood City Day" <br />at a California Clippers game in Oakland later this month. <br />Co~issio~eF Knecht inqui~ed what had happened on the commission <br />motion re cinnabar mining and suggested item be included on July <br />agenda; asked about improvements to Chestnut Park and was told by Mr. <br />Balzarini thàt work started last Monday and should be completed <br />pretty soon:~noted that restrooms at Fleischman Park lacked paper <br />prqducts and was told that such supplies were removed by vandals; <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson ~omplimented both the Park Department and the <br />Recreation Department and staff for the outs~anding cooperation and <br />assistance during the recent Flower and Art Show: inquired on how <br />Yacht Clubhouse addition was being financed: asked if "lake" near <br />boat launching area and landscaped area was to be removed: cited <br />attention needed at all parks and la~dscape~ar~as; told o~ suggest- <br />ion to Co-ordinating Council by members of the R.C. Employees Assln. <br />that a "park" be created on "pumping station" ground near divider <br />turn-around ~on Veterans Blvd. north approach to City from Bayshore <br />Freeway, possibly a service club sign-board installed (which sign- <br />b~ard installation Mrs~~~9mpson felt would, not be practical) and <br />asked why thi~_matt~r h~d not come to the Park & Recreat~on Commiss- <br />ion for discussion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stuart complimented the Eighth Annual R.C. Spring <br />Flower and Art Show cormnittee for its most successful and profession- <br />al presentation on May 20-21 at the new Cormnunity Activities Build- <br />ing and suggested the Commission applaud the committee for the honor <br />it had bestowed on the City by the presentation.
