Mr. Balzarini said the slab area was not
large enough for basketball hoop or tether ball.

Commissioner Whitmore moved to approve the site plans for "Le-
Blanc Mini parkll as presented by Park Superintendent Balzarini
. and with the commission suggestion that a, self-ret.urning type
basketball hoop and/or tether ball equipment be included at
the IIslab" area if at all possible, and to recommend to Council
that these plans be accepted, seconded by Commissioner Sçhenck"
and passed, Commissioners Cqffis and Morgan being noted absent.

¡

Chairman Knecht suggested that the Council be apprised that the
Commis'sion has in mind several locations for a simi lar temporary
park for the following budget.

Agenda 2 - l~~~~A~NJ Rl\~~~~l:~_~a_ckMj.A~.~ b-Stu~~~~~.~lt~JE~man - cont.
from June:

Commissioner Stuart advised that the original premise that we
,would have available a truck, tr~iler or van to move into a
location such as a dead-end street or empty lot, ie LeBlanc
property, and use it daily or weekly under supervision, part~
icularly during summer months, but that requested funding had
been cut out, and as he had not been able to contact Commiss-
ioner Coffis, the other member of the committee, he had no
report.

Chairman Knecht continued the item to the September agenda
with. the hope that some of these instant parks could be in use
b,y next Spring.

3 - ~~NXO~~1!°~R .:~~r:°-S.~~e~s r4-elt°Et:

'283

l~. Burget advised that authorization had been received from
Council on Monday night to proceed with purchase of Phase lof
the Canyon Road property at $121,800 on a cash basis (instead
of over a 3 year period) County will participate to 25% of cost)
as property is available and owners had requested the cash basis
purchase; that all documents were in escrow'for the 6.3 acre
parcel: that a sewer assessment district is expected to be
formed, a part of ~ which runs through Phase 2 and which
the City will be responsible to participate in financially;
that on Phase 1 - approx. 3.8 acres - negotiations have broken
down as asking price is too far out of line; that Phase 3 -
approx. 13.4 acres is a long range project and there is no
money in the budget to start on it, hopefully funds will be
included in ext year1s budget, etc. .

---......,._m_.. ......------....,.. ....-.-- - ... - . u_~_.- --~----'-_.._--"-----""-""'.'-' .-....----.---.-...-.... --.-. .--_.._m_...--
.'" ,

...----.----.............---- _..__._.__._-----~-'. ._------........;--~.--
