Commissioners Whitmore and Morgan were absent. Tour date selected was - Tuesday, July 13th, 10 the Veterans Memorial Building. Commissioners Knecht and Thompson indicated their interest in tary will contact all Commission members. (Mr. of town) a.m. leaving from Schenck, Guida, attending. Secre- Stuart will be out ~~c~~~~~o~ Dep~rt~e~t Commissioner Stuart noted particularly good information in Tribune last week re recent recreation activities and suggested that it would be a good idea to have interesting items in the paper each week about what is going on. Commissioner Stuart moved to recommend that the park and recreation staff provide weekly news releases to the local paper, seconded by Commissioner Thompson, and passed. Commissioners Whitmore and Morgan were noted absent. Commissioner Knecht suggested that it would be a good idea if the recreation department scheduled 'ttwi1ight II programs for the community--that we should have lots of such programs in the citY1 Commissioner Schenck stated that attendance at swim pools is down-- both city and othersì Commission discussion was had re recreation department reports of the type previously prepared for the Commission. Commissioner Knecht moved that the Park and Recreation Departments' reports be accepted and a request made to the Recreation Department , -~..
