Ar:~.!3~e~ .tr~op~e!~t~ - progress report: <br />Mr. Balzarini said basketball court has been qompleted¡ barricades <br />would be installed to prevent street access to cement pad; no dividing <br />fence -between property lìne and apartment building-had been installed <br />because of funds. Mr. Balzarini was asked to provide a cost estìmate <br />for fencing. Reference was made to Park "Department report to City Manager <br />which showed Brizee ~üni Park Development (not completed) -Lease $1,600, <br />and contribution from R.C. Kiwanis of $1,0001 LeBlanc Mini Park Develop- <br />ment as costing a total of $6,466.86; and Chestnut Park Redevelopment <br />cost of $12,108.57. <br /> <br />2 - _qAþJX~~rB-~1>. - Progress report. <br />City Manager Ullrich explained the difficulties re acquisition of Phase 1 <br />and stated that negotiations with property owners involved had been at <br />a standstill for some time, and the only possibility for acqquisition <br />would be to go to court under condemnation proceedings. <br /> <br />Commission discussion included - that Phase 1 was the critical portion <br />of the Canyon Road project which also permitted access from Canyon <br />Road; that surface rights had been secured for the H/H r/w from <br />Glenwood to Oak Knoll; plat plan and survey had been made for presently <br />owned city property for the project¡ that the city should go ahead with <br />condemnation proceedings: that promised monies from the County should <br />be secured; that a master plan should be made for the total Canyon Road <br />project: that there is an urgency to proceed twoards the acquisition of <br />Phase 1. Þæ. and Mrs. Howard Durham indicated their support of the <br />project from its start, and agreed on the urgency of acquisition of <br />Phase 1. Mrs. Jan Weinbraub who had come to the meeting to speak for <br />the Canyon Neighborhood Association said she would present the group's <br />proposals at the December commission meeting. <br /> <br />.Commissioner stuart moved to recommend to Council that the City Manager <br />be instructed to start condemnation proceedings through the courts <br />immediately for the acquisition of property known as Phase I within <br />the context of the total Canyon Road Project picture, seconded by <br />Commissioner Schenck, and passed. Commissioner Guida was noted <br />absent. <br /> <br />Comrnissìoner Stuart, moved to recommend to Council that promised <br />County participation funds be secured from the County of San Mateo, <br />and, along with presently budgetea city Open Space monies be earmarkea <br />for Itearnest moneyll in the matter of condemnation proceedings for <br />acquisition of Phase 1 of <the Agenda: <br /> <br />Canyon Road project, seconâed by Commissioner Schenck, and passed. <br />Commissioner Guida was noted absent. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />
