Commissioner Thompson moved to request the City Manager to institute immediate citation action to prohibit vehicles from parking on Dickey Street, seconded by Commissioner Stuart, and passed. Discussion included possible consideration of "opening up" Vera Avenue to Dickey Street for an easterly exit to Vera. Commissioner Stuart pointed up the fact that the Community Park Master Plan envisions utilization of this area for expansion of McGarvey Field to permit other facilities adjacent to the recreation building. 'pr~~~~ reR-oE1: Mr. Ullrich told that he had retracted application for these funds re Community Park following information that the half million dollar funds had been over-subscribed and were going to be used for impacted areas in the bay area such as Oakland and upon advice would re-apply -in the early spring when additional funds were available; that funds of $175,000 (approx.) earmarked for boxing the creek hopefully can be used for matching funds, and will be available, at time of re-application that timing of application is important. Report and recommendation re Marlin Park. Commissioner Stuart said that due to holidays no meeting had been held with committee and staff, and he would request continuance until February. Chairman Whitmore said that purpose of sub-committee would be to deter- mine what solutions could be found for hazards which may exist at Marlin, etc. and what kind of precautions we will take in future~ areas in Shores. Mr. Moore indicated this was his interest in being at the meeting, as was reference in our December minutes re signs for park areas in Shores.
