However, <br />after some discussion, the commission decided to ask for, an AD HOC com- <br />mittee to study this, and we would have an adjourned meeting Wednesday, <br />May 12, at 7:30 p.m. This was moved by Mr. Gui~a and secon~ed by Mrs. <br />Terrill. Unanimous motion. The AD HOC., committee was made up of Larry <br />Schenck, chairman; Dorothea'Terrill and Frank Guida as committee members. <br />They are to make a report at this meeting. <br /> <br />The- second personal appearance was sister Denise-of st. Pius Church <br />regarding the coordination of the city recreation activities with <br />activities of the st. Pius Church. sister Denise appeared and clarified <br />that she was t~ying to schedule and have some attendance for her various <br />programs at the church. It was discouraging for their teachers to prepare <br />lessons and have a very small class report mainly due to play sched~ling <br />by the Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Chairman Thompson noted that this was matter of staff coordination and <br />that the Recreation Department and Sister Denise could work it out. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />The third personal appear~nce was Cornell Harper, chairman of the Motiva- <br />tion Student Council. It was his request that we consider having use of <br />the Hoover Pool Monday and Wednesday evenings and if it could be possible, <br />be free for the kids working at the Fair Oaks School. To the question of <br />how many were involved, he announced that 20 to 30 for a 6 weeks period <br />that would start June 15'QThis woula be under~the direction of the'Neigh- <br />borhood Council and the parent body working in the target area. It was <br />suggested that staff and Mr. Harper and th~ Neighborhood Council and a <br />group of M9tivation Student Council work together to handle this problem. <br /> <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />1 UI <br /> <br />I. Palm-Regent <br />It was reported that Mr. Ullrich had a letter of April 16, in which <br />he advised the council that after extended proposals the city had <br />arrived at an impass, and it was their intent to not further pursue <br />the lease of this property. The landowner was asking far in excess <br />- of the property lease made in the LeBlanc-Brizee land.. It was asked <br />that another site by the Committee come ~up for investigation. <br /> <br />b. Redwood & Poplar Near Ebener <br />Chairman Knecht made a report, along with Mr. Paulson of the <br />Recreation Department, stating .that the property would be aligned <br />along each of the sides with the Terracel Realty and Mr. Carl Levie <br />and Mr. Shephard, the owner of -the property on the other side. <br />The number one problem at this point for this piece of property <br />was the endorsement by the Hetch-Hetchy right of way for the land <br />use. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
