STULSAFT PARK - FISH POND <br /> <br />-"""".Þo- --"L. 1 1 <br /> <br />Commissioner Schenck reported that staff and a representative from <br />Fish & Game Dept. accompanied him to the park and they toured the <br />area involved. Mr. Schenck was told that we would receive the fish <br /> <br />- " <br /> <br />as planned but that the project ~ou1d be done on a matching fund <br />basis. A letter has been sent to the Fish & Game Dept. advising them <br />of our proposal as suggested by them. <br /> <br /> <br />8 . COMMUNITY PARK <br />.I:> J. - - '" 1 <br /> <br />a. Creek Cu1verting Progress <br />Chairman Thompson was p~eased with the progress and the useab1e <br />land that this project will bri~g (8-10 acres). <br /> <br />b. Caboose Report Giving Total Cost of Project <br />Commissioner Guida stated t~at the caboose is comp1~ted and ~ing <br />used by the co~unity. He prese~ted a break-down involying cost with the <br />final figure of $4,130.07. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />_Commissioner Terrill commented on the publicity in the Tribune but it <br />did not mention Mr. Bean and many other community people and groups who <br />helped to complete the project. It wa~ decided th~t ~ letter be wr~tten <br />to the Editor thanking everyone. Chairman offered to write such a letter. <br /> <br />Bill Paulson said that a colored picture is being prepared to be given <br />to Mr. Griffin of the final project, and that letters have been sent <br />to the Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Key Club members thanking them. <br /> <br />Mr. Guida introduced~. Craik who told of additional rolling stock <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />that is available in Pacific Grove. Mr. Guida realized that this was <br />not on the agenda, but felt time was important as suc~stock as loco- <br /> <br />.., <br /> <br />motives are quite popular and getting sc~rce. He wanted the Co~is- <br />sion's permission to pursue the idea of acquiring the locomotive. <br /> <br />Commissioner Terrill inquired about th~ expense and location and it was <br />decided that the Caboose Committee investigate the idea further and report <br />at the March meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />c. Red Morton Memorials Sub-Committee <br /> <br />- ~ - <br /> <br />Commissione~ Knecht reported that two open meetings had been held <br />and that community response has not been as good as expected. <br /> <br />The ideas that have been mentioned included a Softball Association <br />Tournament on May 30 - June 10 to be called the Red Morton Tournament¡ <br />an Interpretive Center at Redwood Shores; and a letter has been written <br />to the Citizen of the Year Co~ttee submitting his name for consideration. <br /> <br />
