212

CMmM ScMnck tMn spoke briefly on each co~ittee listed. He felt this chart
should be used as a starting place for the Commissioners. After théir review of
the committees, the Commissioners could then concðntrate on accomplishingthes~ goals.
At the end of the year each Commissioner could reflect back and know what he had ac-
complished and accomplished as a body. Commissioner Guida, being a relator, felt the
Open Space Committee would be a conflict of interest and therefore he changed to the
Community Park Committee and Commissioner Knecht changed to the Open Space Committee.
Each Commissioner then volunteered to serve on those committees which most interested
them, as follows:

Programmin¡

Des ign/Dev.e.l ~ment

- Qperational P~lic~ies

Warren - Chair
Pound
Haynes

Weintraub - Chair
Guida
Knecht

Haynes - Chair
Guida
Weintraub,

Qpen S~ace

Commun~tl Park

~ommunitx Relations

Knecht.. He wished to define areas the Commissioners were interested in and also
accomplish established goals. He hoped to have a report from each committee in the fu~
ture months of priorities of their committee. These priorities will then be reviewed,
a plan of action decided upon concerning the best method of accomplishing these goals,
and then all committees will act upon them. At the end of a year, the Commission should
give a report of their accomplishments. At that time they can also present their goals
for the following year. It was mentioned that the staff will eventually assign a staff
member to work with each committee.

The Commissioners then requested time to study the chart and committees before com-
menting on them. Commissioner Poùnd expressed her delight in having the chart; Com-
missioner Weintraub concurred.

REPORTS

J

Item I - ~P Student Pr~ram - V~e!bal R~~?rt - Co~} ttee

Commissioner Warren was to give this report and, as he was absent, Chairman Schenck
indicated this item would be carried over to the next commission meeting in July.

~tem 2 - Monthly Reports

Bids were received June 12 on the first phase construction of Red Morton Park. Attempts
are being made to award the total package on the first phase.

Spinas Park bids were received for lights and were about half the estimated price of
$13,000 (bid was approximately $6,200). The balance can be transfe~~Od into the Corn-
muni~y Park fund to assist in funding the first phase.

- ~
