He indicated that the main thrust of the Committee's study at this time would
be in the area of developing a new statement of philosophy regarding recreation pro-
gramming and the creation of evaluation criteria for program content. The Commission
accepted the report as presented by the Chairman.

5. He mentioned
that the Commissioners do not receive reimbursement for spouses meals or expenses.
He requested consideration be given to spouse expense when appropriate for both to
attend events. Commissioner Guida suggested that there should be some accomodation
for Commissioners such as necessary dinners or conventions but is basically against
a monthly allowance or salary.

Commissioner Weintraub suggested compiling a master calendar of coming events that the
Commissioners might attend and then checking with the Commissioners to see who could
attend the events. She also suggested having backup Commissioners in case one could
not attend the event for which he was scheduled. Also, if other Commissioners were
interested in attending the same event, they would be more than welcome. It was
decided that the new ordinance would be studied, a meeting would take place with the
Committee, and another report made back to the Commission.

6 .
