' <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />"" <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Item 1. <br /> <br />Presentation of Site Plans for Redesign of Neighborhood Parks <br /> <br />Phil SÍ:I\ger..rand Ron ~dges, S~ger & Hodges Landscape Architectural Consultants, <br />were introduced and welcomed. The n~1ghborhood park plans were displàyed and <br />the consultants, gave' an : outline ,of .1;he.~pláns~'propose4, for StaffQ~d, Mezes, <br />Spinas, and Fleishman. It was - eXplained-, aft~r"the'- review' of the: proposed <br />park plans, that the next stage after' the-development of the master plans would <br />be the estimation of various costs.-, The Commission will then;dêt!!ðe if this <br />is the. basic direction in whi.ch:rthey, wish to proceed. They- will.-:It!tien make a <br />decision aa to ' what park will take first priority, along with. keeping in mind <br />the' ávàilaDility~ of '~unds.' Working, drawings~fwill be- the next' s'tep. After the <br />budget is approved., the.1naster' site plans, will. be sent to the City Council <br />(probably the first part of July) for approv-al,.- To inieiate work in whatever <br />park is given first priority, $75,000 was requested in the Capital Improvement <br />budget for fiscal year 1974-75. Neighborhood input'wi!l be solicited. The' <br />Committee recommended that Mezes Park be the first area for redevelopment.. <br />because they'believe that this park not only has the greatest need but also <br />will accomplish the most good for the most people~ It will also have a very <br />favorable impac,t on the City. <br /> <br />. <br />Q~J~' <br /> <br />'~T ' -. <br /> <br />.;" .1.. <br /> <br />Total development of Mezes would amount to approximately $104,OOO(~ today's <br />costs. First phase (àpproximately $66,000) would complete the maj~~1ty of <br />the work. The second phase would cost approximately $38,000 anæ~uld complete <br />the park. <br /> <br />Chairman Guida called for questions and there were none. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />It was moved by Commissioner Pound, seconded by Commissioner Knecht, <br />that the Committee's report be accepted and that the staff proceed <br />with calling for neighborhood meetings. The motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />Chairman Guida thanked the G.A.P. students for attending the meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound expressed the C~ission's appreciation to Singer and Hodges <br />for the work they have done on the parks thus far. <br /> <br />Item 2. <br /> <br />Commission Committee Assignments for 1974-75 <br /> <br /> <br />There have been some committee assignment changes.
