It was indicated that there are undoubtedly <br />points in the study which will be of value in the long-range improvement of <br />the par k . <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 2 - For Consideration - Downtown Street Furniture - Mr. Whitson <br /> <br />~ ~ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />Each Commission will be given an opportunity to review the street furniture <br />and contribute any input they might have. The furnishings will encompass <br />the full ten block scale of Broadway from El Camino Real to Spring Street. <br />The basic theme is simple: the long tunnel effeCt of Broadway will be broken <br />up with a repeating module of large shade trees (Evergreen Ash) which tend <br />to sta y evergreen. ~r. Whi tson showed the Commi ssion a map of the area wi th <br />furniture additions, along with several drawings of the benches, street lights, <br />drinking fountains, and kiosk. <br /> <br />The Commission was very pleased with the drawings and scheduled furnishings. <br />Chairwoman Weintraub expressed the Commission's appreciation in being included <br />in the presentation and being kept aware of what is taking place in the down- <br />town area. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound moved to accept and approve the downtown <br />plan for the street furniture for the downtown improvement, <br />seconded by Commissioner Rollins. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM 3 - D~spussion of General Land Use Conc~ts <br /> <br />Chairwoman Weintraub proposed rescheduling Agenda Item 3 as an agenda i tern <br />at the March regular business meeting. The Commission concurred with her <br />suggestion. <br /> <br />REPORT ITEM I - Redwood Shores Committee <br /> <br />--<.tl <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound moved to accept the Redwood Shores <br />Committee report as written, seconded by Commissioner <br />.Wilson. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />REPORT ITEM 2 - Design & Development Committee <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Schlesinger moved to accept the Design and <br />Development Committee report as written, seconded by <br />Commissioner Knecht. <br /> <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />
