The concept of a community size park to be located somewhere in the
nvacinify.'of .Shell" Parkway and the waterway, as-indicated, was highly
acceptable and every effort should be made to provide for this centralized
park facility.

3.

It was agreed that the proposed Marina development would enhance and
- fulfill some of the mid.peninsula's boating needs. It was felt that
every effort should be made to provide for marina facilities either
at the location as shown on Belmont Slough, or at the location shown
at the northern most point of the peninsula.

4.

There was some concern about the configuration of the proposed park
areas throughout the plan. It was pointed out that precise planning
could possibly "~square off" several of these _areas so that. design can
be accommodated in order to provide greater use of the areas together
wi th aesthetic enhancement. It was fel t that the linear parkways
indicated on the plan should be developed and maintained by developers
wherever feasible rather than become a liability for public maintenance.

5. There was concern that the land use designation for the Scavenger pro-
perty was not included as a part of the Peninsula Plan. It was felt
that this area should be considered together with the Mobil Oil Estates
Plan.

6.

The question was raised as to whether or not the Land Use Section of
the Redwood Shores General Plan was consistent with the Land Use Plan
of the Redwood City General Plan as well as with the Waterfront Plan
and were the population growth figures for the area in compliance with
the projections of the General Plan.

7.

The traffic pattern, which indicates a bridge across the inland water.
way between Marine World Parkway and the proposed commercial center,
was questioned in that it was felt this crossing would inhibit the
"'recreational use of the waterway and possìbly result in severe can.
straints with respect to boating activities. It was felt this road-
. way should '"be -directed .around the waterway' rather .than"-across it.

MOTION:

Commissioner Pound moved to accept the report with the recom-
mendations to the Planning Commission, seconded by Commdssioner
Wj.lson. - -' . -.

The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Schenck was not present for the vote.)

{Commissioner

"
