The preliminary sketches
for the proposed structure for covering the bocci ball courts were dis-
cussed. Mr. Dale Burrious with the Public Works Department explained the
three proposed structures and described the construction necessary for the
structures. All plans have roofs which overhang the courts by at least
six feet. This afford protection for players and spectators from the sun
and rain. Plan I was a twin shingle hip roof; Plan II was a twin shingle
gable roof with wood screen gables; Plan III was a flat roof, all to be
constructed on poll type columns. The area covered would approximate
47,000 square feet. It was pointed out to the Committee that representa-
tives fram the bocci ball players had reviewed the sketches and they chose
Plan II as being the most acceptable. The Committee concurred with this
selection and requested Mr. Burrious to proceed with detailed estimates
for the project as work schedules allowed.

The next item to be discussed by the Committee was a review of the pre-
liminary plan of the Hetch-Hetchy Right-of-Way development project.
Mr. Phil Singer of Singer and Hodges, consultant for the project, dis-
played a strip map showing the proposed variety of the treatments for
the right-of-way throughout its entire length in Redwood City. The plan
would provide for small park areas at various nodes on the right-of-way
connected by trails and landscaped areas. There were various areas through-
out the plan which would provide for home gardening as well as active
recreation areas. The Committee made several suggestions to the consultant
which will be incorporated into the plan for review at a later date. Slides
were shown of the right-of-way at key points on the plan so as to obtain a
better understanding of the potential for development throughout the right-
of-way.
