<br />. r' ~ <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - Formalize 92-93 Objectives <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Davis said he developed a list of prioritized objectives <br />for the Commission based on the lists of priorities from each of the <br />Commissioners. The priorities were: <br /> <br />1. Maintain services at the current level within the limited funding <br />available. <br />2. Red Morton Center. <br />3. New initiatives (e.g. Redwood Shores parks and community center). <br /> <br />All the Commissioners agreed with the list of priorities and Vice Chairperson <br />Davis said he would take the list and begin work with Chairperson Slusser to <br />make further plans. Commissioner Swope felt the Commission should stay <br />closely involved with the Belmont School District regarding development of <br />the proposed school/community center. She said she had some concerns about <br />the project and wanted to ensure all community needs were met. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscel1i: <br /> <br />To accept the proposed prioritized objectives list <br />for the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - Commission Meeting Schedule <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed their meetings scheduled for November 25 and <br />December 23 and decided to combine both meetings to Wednesday, December 2. <br /> <br />M/S Swope/Truscel1i: To have the next Commission meeting on December 2 <br />rather than on November 25. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS/MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Trusce1li said she was impressed with the volume of volunteer <br />hours donated at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center and said she also <br />enjoyed the rest of the monthly reports. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness said he noted Supervisor Wooten1s report and the <br />number of adult sports teams organized this fall. He asked if the <br />supervisors could include some comparative figures from the previous year so <br />the Commissioners could review quantitative data. He also referenced <br />Supervisor Knight1s report regarding drop-in sports and asked how many people <br />participate in these programs. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Swope reviewed the volunteer hours donated at the Senior Center <br />and said it was equivalent to 7.2 FTE per day. She also mentioned Supervisor <br />Litt1efield1s report concerning the serious tree decline in the City due to <br />the long term effects of the drought and root cutting. <br /> <br />-Vice Chairperson Davis referred to Mike Blondino1s report on a proposed <br />small indoor soccer tournament and volunteered his services to be a referee <br />at this event. He also noted that Supervisor Kuca1a has hired a fine chef at <br />the Senior Center to prepare meals for the senior lunch program. <br /> <br />MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli said she attended the Heritage Dinner held recently <br />at the Elks Club. The dinner was honoring the Kiwanis Club and was well <br /> <br />. <br />
