<br />MIS Howard/Truscelli: To elect Susan Swope as Chairperson of the Park <br />and Recreation Commission for 1994. <br />Individual voice vote taken. <br />Davis-yes Howard-yes Morton-yes Nordness-yes Truscelli-yes <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />MIS Howard/Nordness: To elect Pauline Truscelli as Vice Chairperson of <br />the Park and Recreation Commission for 1994. <br />Indi vid ual voice vote taken. <br />D a vis-yes Ho ward -yes Mo rton -yes No rdness- yes T ruscelli - yes <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard thanked Chairperson Davis for serving the past year <br />and thanked him for his efforts and hard work during his term. <br /> <br />COMMIITEE REPORTS <br /> <br />-Commissioner Nordness said he has remained at the Vice President of <br />Redwood City International this year and noted that no President was elected <br />for the organization for the coming year. He announced there will be a . <br />delegation of law enforcement officers coming from Zhuhai in March who <br />will visit with our Police Department. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS/MATTERS OF COMMISSION INTEREST <br /> <br />-Commissioner Truscelli commented on the closure of the Senior Center <br />Annex in preparation for upcoming ADA construction to the building. She <br />mentioned how busy Red Morton Park was last weekend and how lovely the <br />park looked. She mentioned she received favorable comments from tennis <br />players at Shorebird Park regarding the recent resurfacing of the tennis courts. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Howard said she was sorry to read in Supervisor Gibbons's <br />monthly report about the destruction of the tic-tac-toe board at Marlin Park. <br />She mentioned she really enjoyed Supervisor Gibbons's monthly reports and <br />found them to be very informative and humorous. <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard mentioned the correspondence received regarding <br />the Redwood Shores Tennis Club. Director Griffiths mentioned that last year <br />there were a few problems with the tennis club and particular individuals <br />regarding the exclusive use of the tennis courts. He felt it would be helpful if <br />these individuals and the tennis court representatives came to a Park and <br />Recreation Commission meeting to talk about the issue. Commissioner <br />Howard questioned giving the tennis club exclusive use for an entire <br />weekend and perhaps letting them use either Saturday or Sunday but not <br />bo th days.
